Wrestling for the immune system

Recently a group of researchers from the University of California concluded that wrestling improves the immune status of adolescents and increases the number of white blood cells.

For this, the doctors took blood samples from wrestlers whose ages were between 14 and 18 years before and after a training session about 90 minutes. "The approach is an approximation of importance, they noted. The development of the immune system and growth are influenced by the response given by the white blood cells to physical activity during childhood and adolescence." As results, the struggle seems to produce a significant increase in levels of several cell types.
