Plants Against Cancer

Recent studies show that there is some relationship between low levels of beta-carotene in the blood and some cancers such as lung, esophagus, stomach and uterus. Following this research, the American Institute of Cancer and the Ministry of Agriculture of United States recommends an increase in consumption of vegetables and fruit.

These foods contain, besides beta-carotene and other vitamins, minerals, trace elements and fiber, micronutrients that may also help prevent such dreaded disease. It is very appropriate, therefore, that children become accustomed to eating these foods.
