Osteoporosis in Women

It is estimated that one third of women suffer from osteoporosis at 45 years. Currently 3,500,000 Argentine women are between 45 and 65 years. Of these, 25 percent suffered from this syndrome, which affects mostly females, which is a progressive loss of bone mass.

In severe cases, osteoporosis can lead to spontaneous fractures. The most important risk factors are the decline in sex hormones, lack of calcium and sedentaris-mo. Other factors that favor its appearance are the high consumption of alcohol and snuff, diabetes and prolonged treatments with glucocorticoids. Exercise and take milk to ensure a large supply of calcium helps prevent osteoporosis.
