The largest optical and infrared telescopes in the world

They are the twin Keck telescopes, located at the summit of the extinct volcano Malina Kea in Hawaii.

They have eight stories tall and weigh 300 tonnes.
Each has a mirror 10 meters, with 36 hexagonal segments, and together create a single reflecting surface.
