Love Birds

Love at first sight
Small, nice, playful, with multicolored plumage, easy to transfer and to maintain; the agapornis (or love birds), they don't only conquer their couple's heart, which will maintain for the rest of their life, but also that of all those that come them, becoming perfect mascots for all the ages, regions and home classes where their owner inhabits.
The term agapornis is native of the Greek: banquet (love), ornis (bird); and he/she is due to the quality that you/they possess of to choose and to conserve their couple it stops a lifetime. For ésto, when adopting one of these parakeets, it will also be had to adopt their couple, since the feeling of love that unites them is immense and it will be magnified with running of the time. They are natives of different regions of the African continent, including Madagascar, Namibia and Zimbabwe; and they belong to the family of the psitácidos (parrots and tune).
Their species is divided in nine subspecieses: personata, fischer, roseicollis, gray-headed, pullarius, swindernainus, taranta, nigrigenis and liliance. However, in the breeding in captivity the most usual are the personata (natives from Tanzania, known by their black head and a white circle around their eyes in form of glasses); the fischer (coming from Tanzania and identified by their red pick and for not having black mask); and the roseicollis (natives of África of the Southwest and characterized to have an orange coloration in the front part of the head).
It is difficult to know the sex of several of the agapornis species. Many times, it should be appealed to an exam of DNA in the veterinary one.

Once arrival the reproduction time, the male can play with the materials that will constitute the nest for the appearance (the one that happens approximately 23 days after putting the first egg), but who definitively builds the nest it is the female. In one year they put between 2 and 6 eggs.
Their home will be a cage at least of 80cms of long, 50cms of wide and 60cms of height. But the most important thing, is that they have defined their places: a room and their room. Themselves will recognize them!
What do they eat? Coarse with a mixture of seeds that includes sunflower pipes. But the fruit and the greenness is its weakness. It is very easy to feed and to maintain these adorable birds. What are you waiting to adopt them?
