The Eye Wrong

If the baby cries the whole night, he fed well and there is not anything that it indicates that he has potbelly pain, of hearings, or any other one, then there is not doubt: he/she has bad of eye. It is verified that a petty one has bad of eye when they are sad, they suffer of rachitis, eczemas, endless cry, and even when they die without explanation. It is said that the eye wrong is a charm that has its I root in Europe, and that he/she has extended all over the world in a to open up and to close of eyes.

Those that believe in this maleficio, assure that it is a form of making bad without necessity of elaborating magic potions or of puncturing alfilarias to a cloth puppet. To make the wrong, in this case only coarse with the look that he/she leaves traslucir feelings of envy and bad desires. And of there on behalf of the wrong. According to the popular belief, it is for that reason about a mysterious force that falls on the most defenseless in many cases, it is that it is generally given in newly born or babies, because they don't still have the enough strength to combat this bad.

With the look, besides making sick a baby, it can dry off plants or to fuse the business of somebody. But it is necessary to keep in mind that of the charm that we speak, it can be casual, and to be unaware to the intentions of who causes it. Some people possess a very strong look and they produce it without at least to know it. For that reason it is recommended that when he/she is praised a newly born baby, it is necessary to add: "God conserves" it, then, the petty one won't be victim of the eye wrong.

How the superstitions have changed a country to other and also with the step of the time, an only form doesn't exist of knowing if somebody has bad of eye. There is who they say that to know if somebody was victim of the same one, it is necessary to pour a stream of oleum in a soup plate with clean water. Another way to know if somebody has bad of eye, it is tossing three charcoals in a vessel with water. If the three charcoals go to the bottom of the vessel, then that person has bad of eye. In this case, it is necessary to be careful with the size and weight of the charcoals, these won't be very big or heavy because if they are it, they will leave logically toward the bottom.

In many areas, to prevent the eye wrong in the newly born ones, he/she gets used to hang up them in the neck, a petty tooth of dog or any other eyetooth.

The custom also exists of ordering to search who made the charm. For example, when it is believed that the petty one was "browsed", it is sent to search the author of the damage who should return immediately to play the sick person. If he/she doesn't return, it is supposed that he/she has had intention of making him/her I damage, unless it sends a cowlick of their hairs or some security of their appurtenance that it should be arranged on the boy's head and he/she ends this way with the wrong.
