The most famous cemeteries in the world

Some cemeteries have become the final resting place of famous people and have as many visitors as some monuments. It is the graveyard with more history.

Paris is the city universal cemeteries. The Père Lachaise, is the most visited .. has 44 hectares and has hosted so far, one million dead. It contains the graves of Oscar Wilde, Marcel Proust, Chopin, Moliere, Balzac and the famous singer Jim Morrison, leader of the banda "The Doors".

The French capital also has cemeteries in Auteuil, Montmartre and Montparnasse, and 300 km. of catacombs under their soil hosting the bones of more than five million people.

Other famous cemetery in Europe are those of Highgate in London (reminiscent of Victorian), the Zentralfriedhof of Austria (final resting musicians Beethoven, Schubert and Brahms), Stratford-on-Avon (where Shakespeare rests), among others.
