History of graphology

The handwriting, as a discipline, does not have a long history. But the idea of a connection between writing, character and personality existed since time immemorial.
In the fourth century before Christ was developed writing china pattern called "grass." Kuo Jo-hsu (1110-1060 BC) given its importance to calligraphy when he said: "The writing sample unfailingly mind if he comes from a noble or a vulgar person."

In the Europe of the Middle Ages, writing was practiced by monks in a professional way. During the twelfth and thirteenth centuries their use was widespread among the educated. Already in the Renaissance, learning to write was a general desire. Scholars and researchers of the era began the first studies on the subject. As a result of its investigations, to demonstrate that Aristotle had already shown interest in the connection between writing and personality. The first book on graphology appeared in Bologna in the early seventeenth century. His title was Ideografía.

Then in 1622, the treaty appeared Camilo Baldi. In his book stated: "It is clear that each person writes in a peculiar manner and that can not be imitated by another individual." His work was the first step in the formation of graphology as a science.
