Botox details


• Originally approved, in 1989 - by the Department of Food and Drugs U.S. for ophthalmic use.

• As an inhibitor that reduces the contractile function of muscles, also helps calm involuntary spasms of the face and eyelids, fibromyalgia and neck pain and back pain.

• While it is a toxin, does not cause serious side effects because it is used in very small amounts that do not spread through the body but remain only in the muscle receiving the injection.

• It is a safe treatment and its effects are transient.
