New hope for heart problems

Hearts broken. One of the reasons why heart disease is so devastating, it's because the heart muscle is not regenerates: once it is damaged in a heart attack, are injured so irreversible.

However, a new study suggests that in the future may apply healthy cells in the heart to help repair damaged tissue alone. Researchers at the School of Medicine at Indiana University injected cardiac cells extracted from embryos in the hearts of adult mice.

The new cells adhere to the adult heart, and grow up to become mature cells. The next step, according to experts, is to verify that the fabric improves cardiac function.
